Jane is an integrative psychotherapist with a child and young person specialism and an adult psychotherapeutic counsellor, having trained at The Northern Guild for Psychotherapy.
Jane worked as a primary school teacher for 24 years, across 3 different counties in diverse school settings.
She has a depth of knowledge and understanding of the many complexities impacting young people, their parents and those working with them.
As well as working in private practice, Jane is a primary and secondary school counsellor, having worked in both state and independent sectors. She has also worked voluntarily in a charitable organisation and within an NHS medical practice.
As an integrative psychotherapist and counsellor, Jane draws upon a variety of different models which allows her to work flexibly and creatively in ways that meets the needs of each unique person. She works relationally in a client-led way where the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of the work together.
Jane works therapeutically with all ages from aged 4 years up to elderly adults who are experiencing a wide range of issues, including; anxiety, low mood, depression, grief & loss, low confidence/self-esteem, peer relationships, identity issues, bullying, school refusal, developmental and attachment issues, social skills, self-harm, family issues, stress and work related issues.
Jane provides a warm, empathic, non-judgemental space and a gentle, calm approach in supporting clients to explore and manage feelings and make the changes they wish to see in their lives.
Jane offers short, medium and long term therapy, she is a full clinical registered member of UKCP and a registered member of BACP. She holds the following qualifications;
